Making money online is certainly possible and making lots of it is also possible. Making lots of money online quickly or with no work is harder. In order to make a living on the internet and earn extra cash requires effort, sustained effort over a period of time.

In the last post we looked at Googles keyword tool. Go here. We found a lot of keywords but we also know that some important required information is missing, that is, how many pages will we be competing with if we target a particular keyword.

Fortunately the answer is simple. We use Google to tell us. Copy and paste any of the keywords from the keyword tool into the Google home page.

Now it is a little difficult to make out but the searched term was “Cleveland golf” and Google returned 22.3 million pages. How much work would you need to do to get your little web page onto the first page? Let me tell you, a lot!

We need to even up the odds a little! We do this by refining our keyword research and ‘digging down”  into the subject a bit. We can do this in several ways but you must realise there are two choices  from here. Both will cost you something.

There is choice one:  The Free Method. This is free! but it will cost you in time, a lot of time.

There is choice two : The paid keyword search tool. There are several tools you can buy which will dramatically cut down the time you spend finding the most profitable keywords so you can find them more quickly but you will have to shell out for it.

Which way to go?  I can’t force you either way, it’s up to you but I personally go with the paid keyword tool. Time is expensive and anything which saves it is worth the money to me. I will put up some information on which keyword tools are available in another post but for now lets get back to Google.

We have seen the most searched keywords on the  Google free tool and we know how to find out how much competition there is but wait! There is more to do,  and find out. Read the next thrilling installment here.
